Technical CAD drafting

Built for the workshop floor

Fabrication drawings need to be accurate, clearly dimensioned and formatted to your workshop standards. We produce drawings that can be taken directly to manufacture — whether that is ductwork fabrication, pipework spooling, bracket details or modular assembly packages.

We work from whatever source material you have available: Revit models, existing DWG files, PDFs, hand-drawn sketches or site survey data. If you need clean, production-ready drawings produced from rough or legacy information, we handle the conversion.

CAD drafting for any stage

Our CAD drafting services cover the full project lifecycle — from early-stage layout drawings through to as-built documentation at project completion. We maintain revision registers and issue drawings in your required formats, with title blocks, drawing numbers and revision marks to your company or project standards.

All work is fixed-price. You receive a clear quote before we start, based on the scope and drawing count agreed at the outset.

Who it’s for

Technical drafting is the bridge between a design and something that can actually be manufactured or installed. When you need clean, dimensioned, production-ready drawings — but your own team is at capacity or doesn’t draft in-house — we slot straight in. We regularly work with:

Work ranges from a handful of detail drawings to a complete fabrication package, and from one-off jobs to ongoing drafting support — drawn to your title blocks, layer standards and numbering conventions throughout.

Why HawkinsBIM

Every drafting package is fixed-price, quoted against an agreed scope and drawing count before work starts. You can price the drafting into a job with confidence — no hourly meter running and no creeping costs.

Drawings are produced to your standards and issued in the formats you need — native DWG, PDF and any project-specific deliverable — with proper revision control so the workshop is always working from the latest information. We’re comfortable starting from Revit, AutoCAD, point clouds or rough markups.

You deal directly with the drafter, so queries are resolved quickly and the output reflects how it’ll actually be used on the floor. It’s technical drafting from someone who understands buildability, not just line work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What file formats do you work in?
We work in AutoCAD (DWG/DXF) as standard, and can also produce drawings derived from Revit models. Deliverables are issued as DWG and PDF. We can work to your title block templates and drawing standards.
Can you convert PDF drawings to CAD?
Yes. We regularly convert PDF drawings, scanned paper drawings and raster images into clean, editable AutoCAD DWG files. This is useful for updating legacy drawings, producing as-built records or re-using existing survey information.
Do you produce ductwork spool drawings?
Yes. Ductwork spool drawings are one of our most common CAD drafting deliverables. We produce dimensioned spool drawings from coordination models or layout drawings, formatted for your fabrication workshop.
How quickly can you turn around CAD drawings?
Turnaround depends on scope and drawing count. Simple single sheets can often be turned around in 24–48 hours. Larger packages are scoped with an agreed programme. We are direct to communicate if timescales are tight — just let us know.
